Ever since the Internet revolution, the Television that practically raised me, sits in the living room like a useless phantom mistress.
That wasn't the case with Mr. Dimovski; he was a loyal viewer to the very end. TV gave him something to do when he lost his job, kept him company when he lost his wife, offered him some comfort when he lost his health. It wasn't as complicated as a computer, nor as boring as a book. It was like a friend. Giving off opinions, ideas, emotions... Mr. Dimovski thanked it, with his 24/7 loyalty. A few years ago, after complaints about the smell, the cops knocked down Mr. Dimovski's door. The TV was still on, bathing his corpse in the light. According to the time of death and the channel the TV was tuned to, Mr. Dimovski passed away while watching some unmentionable reality television turd. Maybe he felt cheated and his heart gave out...
I knew an old man who died like this. Loneliness is so sad :(
ReplyDeleteThe best I can hope for is to die in my sleep... My Sister will probably be the one to find my corpse ...she checks on me every few days....23 rortsWo
ReplyDeleteMelissa - very sad indeed.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Katie - glad you like it.
Dr. Theda - there was a woman in England who was only found in her apartment 5 years after her death. it was hell for the authorities to manage to identify her. hope our time doesn't come for many many years.
