The True Friend

Last Christmas, my cousin told me about his friend, Jesse. They fought together in the war. One day, Jesse was captured by insurgents. They wanted information that would allow them to attack the military outpost where Jesse and my cousin were stationed at. For three days Jessie was subjected to horrible torture, but he didn't give them what they wanted. After being rescued, Jesse said that the thought of his friends and their families was what gave him the strength to resist his captors. I know very little of this man, but if what I was told is true, then I doubt my cousin has ever had a truer friend.

The camaraderie between soldiers is probably the only positive thing to come out of modern wars.
