The Mama Nature's Boy

Erik thinks we should go back to Nature. It's a nice idea, but this isn't some informed environmentalist who knows what the hell he's talking about. No; Erik is a lazy delusional idiot. He wants to go back to Mother Nature so she can take care of him, and nourish him, and tell him that everything is going to be alright...

Years of pop environmentalism have taught him that green is good and that green is clean. (Almost like synthetic grass.) Bad news, Erik, Mama Nature isn't that clean. If you really want to suck on her tit like we did in the old days, you have to leave your parent's air-conditioned Wi-Fi equipped pristine glass bubble, fill your hands with dirt and manure, sweat your ass off under the baking Sun, fight off hoards of hungry bugs, and quit whining like a little bitch.

  4. There's so much misinformation spread around, it becomes difficult to know exactly what is what. Nice cocoon.

  5. Nuki - i understand and agree, but every one of those ways require hard work, not regressing back into a baby state.

Melissa - that's true. global warming studies are a disastrous example of inconclusive data.

  6. For some reason this makes me think of a man child, all too ready have mommy iron his clothes and make his dinner while they laze about in their parents' basement...

It certainly hits home for the environmental issues too.

I love the contrast between the cocoon and surroundings :)

  8. Laury - you're dead right on the themes. i get sick of these kids, mostly from the cities, who think going back to nature is just laying all day long in a green meadow and plucking fruit from trees. it takes hard work.

Nuki - yes, you're absolutely right. i couldn't live without internet forever, but if it was for a good experience i wouldn't mind letting go of it for a few days. i feel the same way about those people, too.

  9. Very relevant post. Farming can be less stressful than modern living, but its not like taking a nap.

Not sure why, but I really love those shadow leaves.

  10. Personally, I've never been much of a nature guy. Too much dirt and bugs. But I don't whine if my whatever isn't organic.

  11. Jay - thanks. most the times it is less stressful, but when a producer gets his yearly crops destroyed by hail or something similar, it can be pretty devastating.

Nietzsche - me neither, actually, but some people are so hypocritical. they'll post beautiful nature photos on their favorite social media sites with inspiring 'green' messages and then, they'll drive their car everywhere, keep the air-conditioner on at all times, etc.

  15. Jorg - damn, that's even gloomier than what i posted.

Octapolis - instead of inside an amniotic cocoon, i should've drawn the bastard hanging from the neck ;)

  16. Was your drawing a dig into this also:

"Be silent, Babe in the Egg of Blue, that thou mayest grow to bear the Lance and Graal! Wander alone, and sing! In the King's Palace his daughter awaits thee."

He looks so peaceful. I think I need to re-think my views on good old mother nature too. :-)
