The Irrelevant Voter

You can call him Phil, but names are meaningless among the meat puppets. With a pat on the back, they scooped away his identity as soon as he reached the legal voting age.
He doesn't have a face, just his number.
He doesn't have a voice, just a silent nod in acceptance.
He doesn't have a brain, just the purpose: Keep the status quo!
He is an irrelevant voter. Maybe we are too...

  2. the last sentence was a tease. i'm sure you and many of us invite change, but how do we make the change happen if our only candidates are mere photocopies of each other?

  3. Oh politics...
More often than not it's chosing between the lesser of *insert number* of evils.

  4. yeah, the world's 2nd oldest profession.
you're absolutely right. wish there was a better alternative though.

  5. Maybe we shouldn't vote at all. Teach those slimy leaches that we don't want them.

  6. Trust NO one. Question everything. Never believe a rumour till it`s been officially denied. That`s my version of the old Yorkshire saying. ~ “Hear all, see all, say nowt, take' all, keep all, gie nowt, and if tha ever does owt for nowt do it for thysen”

  7. Nietzsche - not voting doesn't solve much either, but 'slimey leaches' is a pretty accurate description.

Appy - the old saying still holds up really well. thanks for sharing.

  8. And again I can only say that your ideas and artwork are great, Gabriel!
(Maybe that´s the only thing I can say here because I HATE HATE HATE politics and I´m happy to hang around in my little dreamworld. *Lol* makes me become a puppet myself?

  9. thanks a lot, Kat!
i've always seen politics as a grey cold place, but occasionally, i do like the ideological debate.

  10. It's all theatrics IMHO. They own the media and everything has been put into two categories - the right and the left, republican, democrat; it keeps people divided and at each others throats while these greedy elite globalists rape and plunder the planet.

So they split everything down the middle making elections close which makes them so much easier to rig. I could go on and on but just one more point. The shit is going to hit the fan sooner or later.

  11. you're absolutely right, David, but what can we do to make things better on a global or even national scale? the word democracy means 'power' and 'people'. where's that power that the people supposedly possess? it's become a bullshit notion.

  12. No need to care about politics too much. All, what people need is a beer and a good internet connection, haha...

  13. Gotta agree with Octapolis. Fuck it, dude.

  14. believe me, i totally understand your points of view, but politics do rule the world and it's not always easy or prudent to be oblivious to its machinations. some people are really suffering with the decisions there leaders make.

  15. You're right. We should change things, but unless you're planning on running for office, there's not much we can do. That's what I like so much about your post, it brutally shows the irrelevance of the voter today.

  17. hard to explain in english... of course you´re right, but the idea to change whole politic may be nice, but we can´t do this really. what we can do is to be nice to other people around us, that´s what i tried to say. when politics decide to let this planet explode, they will do this without asking someone of us...

  18. Jay - usually, those who have to most to give, don't have the ambition to run for those places, which is sad.
'Phil' is actually a brain dead militant of a political party, but because of the irrelevance of the act, it could easily be anyone.

Octapolis - sometimes it's hard to accept how some of these politicians are driving the world into shit, but, like you said, we can at least be nice to the people around us. maybe these small circles (communities) can slowly change the bigger ones (nations and world)

  19. " but what can we do to make things better on a global or even national scale? the word democracy means 'power' and 'people'. where's that power that the people supposedly possess? it's become a bullshit notion."

I try to view the problem from a historical context. Look at the almost innumerable nations and empires that have rose and fell since the dawn of man. I believe that is happening on a global scale now. There isn't much one can do as it is too late methinks, have fun while you can I say - but BE PREPARED.

  20. David, are you a doomsday prepper? many believe in the economical collapse of the world in our time and historically, the possibility does make sense.
if it really does happen, with my luck, it'll happen when i'm retired. goodbye pension and hello 'too old to farm for food'.

  21. Haha! That is along the lines of what I have thought also. About the only way to make it after a total melt-down is to be able to contribute to a good group. Goodbye to altruism also.

I think that it is vital to always be prepared though I haven't a "Doomsday Prepper" outlook on things, it just makes sense. You never know when the shit's gonna hit the fan - or from what angle.

  22. peak oil, economical collapse, super flu, nuclear war, massive coronal mass ejection, zombie apocalypse... it's best to be prepared ;)
