The Fake Celebrity

Some bloggers are just so full of themselves. This guy Anton has a celebrity blog and he's always hungry for followers. What's the point of having a thousand followers if you don't care what any of them has to say and if they don't give a shit about you? He gets comments on every post, but they're all the same: "Hi! Amazing blog! Let's follow each other?" What's the point of these meaningless spews of nothingness? He also calls his readers 'his fans' and highlights his blog awards in a disgusting way. Singers give us songs. Actors give us characters. Even models give us sexy photos. Why do these kids act like celebrities when all they have to give are their vain dreams of being famous?
The internet shouldn't be a popularity contest. We should be using this platform to have fun, know other people, and maybe learn a few things. I'm not a hypocrite, I like having views and followers and I know it's impossible to keep in touch with everybody. However, I try my best to get to know other people and I look for meaning... This douchebag is as meaningful as a skid mark on a celebrity's pair of underwear.

  1. "It didn't get me more views or followers, nor did it make me special. Some" ... is this meant to end here?
hippified smiles and hope you are good... also, yeah... I may be all over the place at moment but I only came to type, ramble and if anything interesting came to mind, share... the veiws/followers thing doesn't bother me... the coimmunication is what I'm about and since I needed a blogger to follow others stuff I though I may as well give it a go too.

  2. The ones that sadden me are the ones that really have something to say but give up when they don't end up with hundreds of viewers, while there are thousands of Blogger blogs out there with no viewers at all, but they keep chugging on out of the love for it.

  3. Jessica - as you can see, it wasn't supposed to end there :) sorry about that, the damn thing got published prematurely. i agree with you about communication. it's what should matter; everything else are just details.

David - that's true. i guess people come here with certain goals and when they don't achieve them, they leave. maybe some should rethink their goals. if we do something that makes us feel good, then numbers shouldn't matter.

  9. So the guy's "fans" are like ghosts, right? Nice idea. I don't know why these jerks blog about this celebrity crap, they'd be better off just reading a book or playing cards.

  11. Jay - yeah, everything that's blue in this image comes from his delusional brain. people can blog about whatever they want, as long as they don't make it into some messed up ego game.

Dr. Theda - i truly enjoy The Crypt and appreciate all your work on it. i wish more people were as genuine as you. cheers!

Yes this can really lift our spirits... But I do Not expect this type of responses (# of views)... so it does cheer up "Stacey"....

  13. that's great. i understand what you mean and i'm glad The Crypt does so well. i don't do nearly as well; however, i'm grateful for those few who do visit. it makes the 'work' that much sweeter.

  14. Nice post, all what you said is totally true.
That's always the same thing: number doesn't matter. You can have only one follower who really loves what you do and which who you can share in an interesting way.

And I found your draws very well!^^

(And sorry for my shitty english, I'm french bon sang de bois! :o) )

  20. For real Gabriel! It's amazing what one can run into by randomly clicking on an updated blog. I try to avoid doing it too often though as I end up getting stuck for hours clicking on blogs, lol.
