The Collaterally Damaged

It doesn't matter if Donnie also wanted to get in her pants. What matters is that he was nice to her... and paid for it. Sometimes, you try to be nice to a person and all you get for your troubles is shrapnel in the soul. Donnie didn't even get the sympathy you would give a victim. She was the victim here. Him? He was nothing but the collateral damage... less than a footnote in someone else's love story. What a shitty fate.

  2. Sometimes when you try to be nice and maybe even help them out a bit ( even if you are not "trying to get in their pants")...
Their "Drama" ( often their relationship with someone that I know) It All "explodes" back upon you for having tried in the first place...

  4. This happens more frequently with suckers who are too trusting. A cautionary tale for all.

  5. true, but i think i'd rather be a sucker than never take a risk. the heart wants what the heart wants.

  6. An all too often occurrence...
This drawing almost seems like 'Friendzone - the Explosive edition' to me.

  8. As much as it sucks to be that "guy" or "girl" that gets shit on, I think we all learn from each mistake and make sure to never make the same ones repetitively. Though, it is unfortunate for those that turn into "collateral damage" so much that they turn against the world. But in my head I like to think Karma is a bitch and will always follow the people who create the problems. Very nice artwork, Gabriel.

  9. yeah, you're right. there's always something to learn from every little thing.
don't know about Karma, though. i've never really seen it happen more often than its normal mathematical probability, but i do hope it does. neither the girl, nor Donnie deserved what they got.
    thanks, Jessi.

  10. And then there are those of us who should have had "Welcome" printed upon their forehead ... Did Not learn from First time... Second.... Seventh... You get the idea Kiddies ....
Nobody comes around much these days and there is no one here but "Stacey"...

  11. that's the peculiarity of this 'game', Doc. you don't learn to avoid risk or to give up; you just learn how to better accept these sorts of things... and move on to the next one.

  12. Hahaha! Seeing that drawing was the best laugh I've had for a while. Then I read what it was about - I see what you did there, lol. I hope Donnie is ok now.

  13. Like I said "post views" have started to matter a bit...
We had 444 for Today !!! that is very good for us... there should be plenty of "new views" from All Over"... coming in at a bit after church lets out tomorrow ... still have to find a "Non-Zombie Jesus" post for Tomorrow....
That might offend some viewers .... But I might try to find a "good one" to post anyway....A
A Happy Easter To You All and thanks for the many views and a always... great art a 'social-commentary"... my Friend...

  14. I seriously envy the way you put so many layers in your work.

I would never have thought of popping a bubble as a metaphor for someone dumping their shit on you

  15. I got a lot of experience with such people. Having a relationship with them ( in any way) always hurts a lot.
