The Innocence (inter. #10)

As you can see from the pic, 5 years ago, my cat Mia was a cute and fragile little ball of fur. Today, she’s a fully grown adult. Despite her sociopathic tendencies and her narcissistic nature, she still has that same aura of innocence in her. She’s big and strong and treats me like her slave, but she’s still as innocent as the day she was born. Animals keep that purity until the very end.
I wish the same could be said about people.

  1. I'm more of a dog person, but I know exactly what you mean about their innocence. We have some of it when we're kids, but unfortunately we quickly grow out of it :/

  2. animals and kids keep it nice and simple. we adults tend to mess everything up.

  3. Good comparison...! And good to know, that you don´t kill kittens, haha... ;o)

  5. Octa - thanks man.
only if i'm really hungry ;)

Elizabeth - just don't let her know that. she's already full of herself.

  6. What a cute cat. You sure are right about humans too.

  7. I love cats! I have 5.
But I'm not so sure about their innocence. A cat will hold a grudge. With all of the floor space in our apartment I just can't believe that it's a coincidence that my shoes are the only things that get puked on.

  8. Sikzak - yeah, the world would probably be a nicer place if we took some notes from them.

Michael - 5? wow, that's quite the gang. the grudge part is true and the selective puking has happened to my shoes, as well. however, i can't seem to hate my cat for any of the evil stuff she does.

  10. I am looking forward to again having my dog inside... Poor thing has had to endure this Winter outside ( He has a nice house and I put his pillows in the dryer for a bit on colder nights) Just cannot afford the flea treatment at present...

  11. if you´re really hungry, you can always have a pizza or nine beer (approximately the same, haha). but please swear, my hungry friend, that you will never eat kittens anymore! ;o)

  13. I lost his father ("Uno") back over a year ago... Uno was half Chihuahua and half Jack-Russel, ... the Mother is Chow Lab and German Shepard mated with a Pit Bull... interesting combo...lol... His name is "Casper"...

  15. Dr. Theda - i'm glad that you and Casper keep each other company. there's nothing quite as fun and loyal as a dog. it's really admirable that you warm his pillows on those cold nights. most people wouldn't even care.

Octa - i swear it'll never happen again. hehehe!

    Nuki - me too :)

  16. I care more about Dogs than I do most people ...
When I was four and five there were no "kids" living in my area... just "old Folk"...
So I formed a "friendship" with them ...we used to roam the woods and fields.. I was the "Alpha Male"... childhood memories...

  17. childhood memories are usually the best and that sounds like an awesome one.

  21. Cindy - they're definitely the best.

Kat - that's true; and i also think that having a pet helps a person grow up and become more responsible. a pet can make us kinder, too.

Melissa - i hope you get one soon.

  22. Oh my what a cutie!
I have two cats and I love them so much. Despite all the mean things they do sometimes. They are my babies.

  23. being mean is just their nature. their meanness is worth all the joys they give :)

  24. Please give Mia a hug from me. :)

  25. What a cute kitty!

That's why animals are the best stress relief! I love hugging my 15lb monster orange tabby when I get home from work. It just seems to release all the aggravation from the day.
